Reviewed by Mark James on 21/04/2008 I have a NUVI 660.. functionally identical to the 610, except the 660 has European mapping, the 610 UK & Ireland mapping. It does everything I want in a car based gadget.. GPS, plays MP3's through the car radio, acts as a hands free phone through the car radio (requires bluetooth on the phone).. the only problem Ive had with this is finding a free frequency in the FM band.. this is a problem in London especially with the pirate radios. it has UK road traffic information FoC for life (great for avoiding snarl ups.. like all such services the quality of information is patchy.. but the re-routing is great. I do notice on most such detours a lot of cars seem to have Nuvi's following the same rerouting its never take me off down odd looking tracks or through fords, over pony tracks, even if it tried to I'd still override the suggested route. recalculates the route quickly It has extensive lists of waypoints.... (eg nearest supermarkets, fuel, hotels) the Garmin Lock is a great idea to make the device less attractive to thieves you can upload POI's the only bugbear with the MP3 player is that finding tracks can be a bit of a pain, and there seesm to be no way of making or importing a playlist, but thats a minor gripe is it better than any other GPS.. I don't know, but it works fine for me. had it 6 months no problems, would strongly recommend anyone consider the high end Garmin Nuvi's Rating:
