Reviewed by Robert Mason. on 24/06/2008Purchased in Melbourne Australia.Heavily reduced at sale of car gps systems. Seems to be much less popular than tomtom units. Seems to do all that I require but did not come with latest freeway east of melbourne loaded. Seems to get this and down load it is in excess of $100 aust which seems expensive. The main problem is the cost of additional complete car dash mounting bracket. It comes with a nice small mounting bracket part number MKT 83. This is necessary when transfering between vehicles. This is expensive and has to be especially ordered with time lag. Some offshore aftermarket suppliers supply a dash or windscreen mounting brackets but these are bulky and in most cases one has to use the cradle that is suppied with the garmin. I am not sure how long the depression in the cradle will stand frequent changing.A burst of sun yesterday in Melbourne winter caused the screen to be slightly harder to read. A small of black paper taped on top cured this and proably m ake up a cardboard roof for Melbourne summer.I find the voice easy on the ear. When I consider I purchsed same for almost half the cost they were originally put on the market I am happy with the unit. Don't need all the extras such as speed camera locations etc. Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]()
