Reviewed by K Print on 16/11/2008 My Techwood 4210 is still going strong and Im afraid that I couldn't disagree more with some of the comments here. Works A1 never had any problems and its on alot of the day with family watching it. Picture quality varies depending on the source, I've seen lots of comments about bad pictures and its blamed on the TV, the truth is that most providers compress the signal to crame as much as they can "ie" skywhich leads to pixelation, plasma TVs are less forgiving, VGA port shows the true quality of the screen, HD movies are very good on this screen. Freeview pictures are also very good less chanels = less compression. Many older plasmas ie 2 years or more like this screen do lack HDMI ports but can still except HDMI equipment via the DVI port using a very cheap DVI to HDMI adaptor. The use of the Tunner / media box is handy if you want to mount the screen on a wall, scarts pretruding at the rear of other screens can be a problem and hard to locate once its in place. Faults which mainly relate to Y-Sustain boards are common on all plasmas as anyone who fixes this stuff will know and not related just to this screen. And im also afraid that the disatifaction when things go wrong seems to revolve around one thing, MASTERCARE ie currys or dixons, If you want support dont buy anything from them, its no secret very well known, all things can go wrong. and bottom line if you spend a lot of money on something invest in good home insurance and avoid pointless extended warrantys which will say somewhere in the small print that they probably wont fix it regardless. your gripe is with the seller not the manufacturer and it doesnt really set a fair picture of something. Your better off contacting LG direct for support or claiming the TV on AD insurance if its written off. Plasma TVs are high performance electrical appliances and will go wrong exspensively. Just like cars etc. This TV was a great buy for the money and has lasted well. Rating:

Reviewed by peter davidson / the doc on 17/04/2008 I bought my pile of cack about 2.5 years ago nothing but probs with it now getting a letter of credit for a total of £800 and after searching on the net have a couple of sneaky ideas as they need to replace it with the same spec or better if needs be, shame I need to have a tv with at least 3 scarts ! by the way ed in response to your post below after speaking to the tech guys enginneers and delivery guys who came to pick up the techwood it would seem you are in the minority, the minority being 1 as in solo because they all stated themselves that this is one of the worst tv,s they have ever come across with never ending problems which normally arise after 18 months at least they got one thing right, and also sorry to go on here as you state below they can change the plasma panels which are the same as lg but the engineer informed me that they cost £1000 so why would they replace a £1200 tv as was when i bought it with a £1000 plasma panel it just economical or good buisiness, but in saying that could be a reason why a lot of people seem to have problems with the tech guys and master care. Reviewed by ED-209 on 01/09/2006 I have a 4210 which I've had for over 2 years with no problems what so ever, I work for a well known company doing repairs to all Plasma and LCD flat panels and the callout charge talked about below should cover all labour needed to fix your screen wether it be 1hr or 16hrs. price of parts would be extra. Techwood are very reliable given the amount of the sold. They use LG plasma panels which are the same as used more expensive sets. The common faults for these are power bracket bending resulting in the switch not activating which is a simple repair job for us or the av box not coming out of stand by again a simple fix. Reviewed by Mike Smith: S.Wales on 31/08/2006 The TV, Curry's and Mastercare are all junk! Rating:
Reviewed by Michael Barron on 26/08/2006 Sorry to hear about the problems others seem to be experiencing but I have to say I've had mine now for nearly 2 years and it is SO much better than the LCD's I also have! Good picture. Good Sound. fantastic reliability. Only complaint... Not HD ready... When I bought it ... HD what??? Can't blame Techwood for that, HD was not a practicality then. It was the cheapest Plasma of it's size, but I bet it's as good as most costing twice as much. Just my experience and I have read the problems, glad I took out the 5 year "fix it or replace it" cover from Currys just in case !!! Hope I won't need it. Rating:
Reviewed by David Robinson on 21/04/2006 We have been very pleased with this system for the 12 months we have had it until it refused to come on last night.
It is 2 weeks out of warranty and Currys don't want to know and Mastercare want £120 up front to transport it to their workshop to give a quote for repair. The question is, is it worth it or is this just the start of the money tree? Rating:
Reviewed by John Morgan on 14/03/2006 Like some other purchasers of this product we now find after 15 months that the system is completely unusable. Works out at about £100 per month - plus the cost of the stand which is now a nice corner table.
Currys, from whom we purchased the goods, refuse to accept that there is a problem with the manufacture of the system. The attitude of the people at Mastercare/Coverplan leaves a lot to be desired. It seems that every
phonecall is an opportunity to screw some more money out of the consumer.

Reviewed by sorted on 30/01/2006 I have to say I am very happy wiht my plasma tv . I have had it for 3 years now. However we did have the problems of overheating. The tv tended to swicth off by itself after 20mins or so. We found out from another friend who has a fujitsu plasma tv that he too experienced the same problems. He was told to keep a small fan at the back of the tv to keep it coool. The heat generated from the tv, vcr, dvd and amplifier was causing this to happen. Rating:
Reviewed by Dean on 22/11/2005 Had the tv for over a year now, not had any problems at all. The sound
out of the speakers is quite good, along with the quality of the picture with sky, dvd and ps2.
Best bit is the fact it has 4 scart imports with 2 of them RGB which
is best for sky.
Best to add a home cinema system to have the total suround experience. Rating:

Reviewed by Errol on 11-04-2005 What a pile of junk this TV is. The picture quality is poor. And the sound is just as bad, what more can I say?, well a lot more but I cannot be bothered. Oh and the manufacturer's service is? Err oh there isn't any, customer support?? Well let's say I never found them after 1 year and 2 months of looking other than that it's a blinding door stop.
