Reviewed by mrs murphy on 03/11/2007 high pitched whistling sound coming from the back my brother had same problem and got tv replaced Rating:
Reviewed by Robert Bee on 25/09/2006 I do not understand how Phillips can get away with selling a quality TV with an obvious design fault. This TV is fine until there is on screen sudden motion. When this occurs particularly with people close up their skin appears to wrinkle and ripple. Worse still the retailers know about these issues but do not tell you. You think you are getting a good price but in fact they are just dumping bad product. Watch out for the Empire boys! Seems a good way to lose customers forever! I now have a Panasonic, and I bought it it from eBuyer. Rating:
Reviewed by paul on 17-02-2005 Can't believe what I'm reading in other reviews. I had Philips out twice to look at TV for the same reasons and they would not recognize the problem. Feel like I've been conned. Would be better off with ordinary TV. Rating:
Reviewed by Jono on 06-01-2005 Good Sound qulaity, and simple to use. Wall mount easy to install and will have the set up and runing in no time. I totally agree with the other reviewer comments regarding footie, I only wish I'd seen this before buying. . . . but I can vouch for the problem. I am considering writing the Philips as this problem makes the TV unfit for purpose in my view!!! The pictures does look good with a DVD and looks ok with sky too. If anyone can work out the contrast, brightness and colour optimums for watching this telly - let me know. Rating:
Reviewed by Richard on 07-12-2004 Comparison of this model against 5 other Plasma models appeared favourable when viewing it with a DVD via S-video at my local Richersounds. Beware though because this plasma TV does not compare well against my previous CRT 100 Mhz Sony Wega on fast moving, tv sources. In particular, football viewing on the Philips caused colour smearing and screen latency which made watching any fast moving sport on this TV almost unbearable. High quality DVD sources were good so long as the picture didn't have large amounts of bright colour, again the refresh rate on the TV when panning across images caused the picture colour to smear badly. As a result I took it back to the retailer and swapped it for another thinking it was ok. I was proved wrong, the second TV proved to be identical. In summary if you just watch slow moving TV/films then this plasma will suffice, otherwise I recommend sport fans avoid and try elsewhere. Richersounds were great though! Rating:
