Reviewed by Janzbro on 23/04/2009 A lovely looking TV, great looking DVD & standard Tv images through sky with a gold scart, good black levels Little or no motion blur when watching sport on SD and no strobing as in previous post(they may have a faulty unit) Sound quality also is really good for a flat screen TV HD picture is great for only a 720 - unable to tell difference from full HD. 2 HMDI, 2 scart, 1 composite to rear Component and SD card slot to front(under flap)- SD on plays jpegs. The only minor negative is the user interface i.e. Vol / brightness / contrast etc has no numbered range and becarefull during burn in period (200hrs) do not levave static images ie sky news, films in letterbox mode, epg or games on screen for over 1 hr or they may burn the sceen, just turn onto something else for 10 mins then go back. Also set all setting onto cinema and under 50 lower the better while breaking in Rating:
Reviewed by peter batey on 29/03/2009 Have had this television for about six months first the pluses free view tuner very good picture, d.v.d. picture really very good through my Panasonic up-scaling player the E.P.G. for free view has adverts on it come on are you not making enough money off the television. the High definition picture on cable is not as good as it should be, it is a little soft for me, but that's my fault for buying plasma I suppose as I was used to watching l.c.d. I got a plasma as I heard it was better for watching football, don't believe it, if you like football do NOT buy this television as on 95% of matches the white lines strobe/ flicker and to say it is annoying is an understatement and when I e-mailed and asked about the reason why, I was e-mailed a load of rubbish! Reviewed by Richard W on 13/01/2009 Bought this TV on 2/1/09, WOW! What a TV, so glad i opted for a plasma, picture quality is great even showing SD. Showing HD on this TV is no problem and the fact it shows at 720 is ok. Sound is really excellent, i was thinking of getting an inexpensive 5.1 system, but i dont think i'll bother. Now i'm not a gamer, or an HD or Blue ray user that much, i just like to watch telly, and for £499 for a panasonic Plasma TV, i cant think of better value for money. 10 days after buying this TV, a banner came up showing NO Signal, and i couldn't get freeview. luckily i have a BT Vision box so could see it through there. Rang my product support company, a few diagnostic questions later, it appears the Encoder card is fried. Being an engineer and aware of the bathtub curve in relationship to failure of components, this didn't upset me. I rang my local Curry's and 10 mins later they have arranged a replacement to be delivered the next day. So 5 stars for the TV and 5 stars for the support from whateverhappens and currys. Rating:
Reviewed by Steve R on 06/07/2008 Bought this tv for standard definition viewing as I have no HD source available. connected via sky box with good quality scart the picture is excellent, both through sky digital and analogue, even freeview is very good although picture is a bit soft at times. dvds are clear with good sound. reviews I have read say HD viewing is brilliant even though tv is not a full HD resolution, all in all a great choice if standard definition viewing is your main concern, and at around £600 on line a real bargin.
