Reviewed by russzero on 22/12/2007 >> review for TH37PX70BA plasma dec 2007.<< just purchased this plasma flat screen tv because i wasnt happy with the washed out picture of our previous 26ins LCD flat screen. this plasma is much more contrasty .. more like we are used to with a CRT tv. the picture is also much sharper even though its a big screen. we intended to buy a 32ins but were told plasma wasnt available for 32ins. i cant argue that point. 1st impressions were stunning! the motion on screen was almost lifelike to start with .. but we are getting used the bigger screen now. it has free view built in & 2xHDMI sockets / component & 2xscarts etc. plenty of inputs & i cant fault any so far. the menus are easy & work well. auto set up is fairly std these days .. tunning a spare ch for STB or VHS video is easy .. no real need for the manual. the scaling & compression can affect the quality sometimes but the tv does produce a sharp picture when the occasion arises. in store we compared it running a HD source & it was razor sharp .. so we know its capable. the free view tuner is good & gives very sharp pictures. color balance is natural & although it has good contrast & deep colors theres never anytime the picture looks too bright or too colorful. Night scenes are more natural compared to our LCD tv .. & watching cartoons is quite amazing. i could go on & on but im sure simular plasma tvs would produce simular results. All i can say is i would recomend this Panasonic plasma tv. Rating:
