Reviewed by geoff cook on 12/05/2009 very pleased and then went bang at 3 years! Rating:
Reviewed by Colin Wheeler on 26/04/2009 Yes with hindsight its easy to comment but I would like to relate my experience. My initial purchase 24/4/2006 lasted 3 days before a problem occurred where and entire 5 inch black line appeared. Replacement worked well until a few weeks back where it simply turned off and on and off repeat adnausium. LG did not want to know me. Yes its out of warrantee but I think their tellies should last more than 3 years. I have since surfed for other stories and have found countless like mine. All clapping out around the 3 year mark! NO more LGs for me. Rating:
Reviewed by John Clarke on 15/06/2006 Sorry I'm replying to Michael's response and the review is not from direct knowledge of living with it. However saw this screen working earlier and it looked amazing! I think the issue is to do with off air broadcast footage, had this previous with other 16:9 TV's when they want to auto switch aspect ratio's due to the broadcaster fiddling around with native 16:9 and ARC'ed 4:3 footage or just pure 4:3. I would ask what it's like with clean feed 16:9 DVD footage and not a dirty feed? Really am tempted by what I saw earlier, it looks great, fantastic blacks even in bright daylight and rich colours especially in the red. Very nice but will take another view before buying. Reviewed by jc on 30/03/2006 hi, it sounds like you have the plasma set to automatic switching! most
broadcast signals carry a 16:9 - 4:3 signal this usually changes in various advert breaks or switching the channel.
am waiting for mine to be delivered so I am not commenting on the plasma
thanks Rating:
Reviewed by Michael Curtis on 08/12/2005 Have had two sets in four weeks both with the same problem. You can be watching a program with the screen size set to FULL but it will keep dropping into 16:9 view for a couple of seconds and then back to full. This keeps happening intermittenly on all channels, at different times of day. It also keeps zooming in and again dropping back. Have phoned LG about this twice but so far no engineer has called me back to explain what may be the cause. Fed up so am returning the TV. Anyone else had same problem, or know why this happens.
