Reviewed by lemony on 01/04/2009 Really good! I bought this last year when I got bored of my ipod and wanted something differant. I bought it just to listen to music and it does the job. I can fit in all the songs that I wnat to listen to and the battery life is really good. The only downside to this is after using itunes which is super simple to use its really difficult to get used to Winows media player. Rating:
Reviewed by John Ryan, Cambridge, UK on 03/11/2008 I Love it. I hate the headphones on my LG Viewty mobile phone, so bought this MP3 player which as well as being a terrific buy, has a standard headphone socket (unlike many mobile phones). So what's it like? Small – incredibly small, thin and light. Easy to use interface, takes loads of albums and displays the album cover image as well as album title and track details. Sound quality is fantastic (although I travel on the underground a lot, and find I could do with the volume going a little higher to block out noise – or buy noise cancelling earphones). What else can I say – it does what it says on the tin – incredibly well. But to REALLY show you how good it is, I showed it to my 19 year old daughter who was so blown away, she went and bought one herself the following day. Terrific stuff !!! Rating:
Reviewed by qwertyuiop on 24/10/2008 The thing was good until it froze... now it's rather useless and it doesn't respond to anything, can't even turn it off... Exceptionally irritating. Rating:
Reviewed by Jan on 14/10/2008 This definitely gets a 5 star thumbs up from me. It replaces an old Zen mp3 player, and I bought this one because I wanted more space, a video player and because Sony was recommened to me as giving the best music quality. This does all that and I like it because its not an Apple! Mine is the silver one and it looks really nice and doesn;t scratch. Things I like: big screen for watching videos on the train. buttons are easy to use.sound quality is good, easily as good as my old zen, but I don't know all the techy details of Clear Stereo, Clear Bass, etc. I like the Sony menus and the way you can display info about songs while listening to them. And I think that you get high quality headphones with this - much better than the cheap ones that Apple give away. Things I don't like: screen could be bigger for watching videos, and battery life could be longer. Also it's hard to see the screen when outdoors. But I think that these are the same with all media players, not just the A818. Basically I lurrve it! xx Jan Rating:
Reviewed by Nilesh on 09/10/2008 I would say the design is sleek. Quality of music is good and the battery does last long before it drains. Have been using mine for 3 months no probs so far Rating:
