it's not that rubbish at all.i have one.if you are an true audiophile than don't buy it.above all it is a better than average player,but you have to be very carefuly on making changes in audio settings like echo,3d.clear,etc.those could bring some exra distortion.i have turned them off,and with a little eq customization you may have a very decent sound(there are 2 eq. with nine bands,one for music and one for general,that work together on music!!!)....now dont expect a 100 $ player to sound like bang & olufsen
