Reviewed by Barbara Perlik on 18-12-2003 Pros. 1) Records in WMA format which has a better quality compression than MP3 = more room for files. 2) Easy to expand memory with easy to find (up to 356mb size) SD flash cards. You can use flash cards if you run out of internal memory. Or download to your PC, delete the old and reuse internal and sd memory. 3) Easy on / easy one button record. Lots of flexibility on sampling rate. Internal mic works quite well even when recording live music. 4) Small light-weight very portable size, you can hang it around your neck or buy the inexpensive case and attach it to your belt. But the tiny size makes it easy to put in a pocket aswell. 5) Runs on 2 AAA replaceable (rechargable) batteries. No special orders or trips for unusual battery. Cons. 1) Use fresh batteries for recording (and use older ones for listening) or you can lose the entire recording. 2) Software is somewhat limited to downloading and uploading between DX and your PC, no conversion scheme is included.
