Reviewed by Andrew on 13-05-2004 I was very impressed when I got the unit; something the size of a businesscard to record 750+ tracks at just over #100! Didn't think the bigger memory units 10, 20, 30GB are really required for portable use - who wants to copy 10,000 tracks, who'd want to listen to them all? So get product, great price. Found the software loaded fine (you have to use Philips own Digital Media Management, not Windows MP), and uploaded upgraded software and firmware from the Internet. Tracks uploaded fine, and sounded great, but that's when I found the irritations. The current software doesn't copy WMA's at higher sample rates (192 kbps) and mixes the tracks up so they're not in album track order. You can build playlists, but who wants to do that for 100 albums? What's even more frustrating is that the software looks like it should handle all this, but falls short. I'm currently in dialogue with Philips to seek resolution, but this is time consuming as it takes 2-3 days for a response, which so far has asked for more information. But it looks and sounds great?!
