Reviewed by luke on 28/08/2007 I've got the MP-F57 with 2GB mem. Sounds good with quality Sony earbuds. Included earbuds are not so good. Battery life is reasonable. Nice alu finish. Have it for 2 months now. Looks & feels more solid then many other mp-players out there. Paid 60 Euro. Rating:
Reviewed by chris101 on 31/01/2007 battery life is rubbish and where's the bass? alright for £30. i like the aluminium finish and the lcd screen is an improvement over an apple shuffle which i had before. managed to get it working straight out the box on xp. Rating:

Reviewed by Steve on 30/03/2006 I was going to write a long review of this product but Lizzie really summed it up. I bought mine from Woolworths for £25. Battery charging from a laptop seemed erratic but charging from a desktop seems to work ok if you plug it in and forget it for the day. I got over 6 1/2 hours playing time from 6 hours charge. I too was unable to get the win98 driver to install properly so I called the Woolworhts help line. They told me to
check the set up to make sure that the player would appear as a disk drive
instead of a music device. This fixed the problem. Many thanks to the help
line.
I use mine with a cheap pair of SONY ear buds.
The mid range is quite punchy but treble is a bit mushy. Bass is a bit
overblown. I expect the sound is similar for this price range of players.
Files played through the sound card on my PC sound much more transparent and cleaner.
Over all the player is reasonable value for money. Rating:
Reviewed by Lizzie on 12/02/2006 I bought this player as it was cheap (aka on offer) and I really wanted a MP3 player as my old discman had broken. I initially had trouble loading
any songs to it as the device wasn't recognised by my PC. The trick is to plug the USB cable into the player & PC whilst your PC is OFF which
toltally goes against the instructions!
So far I have managed to download 92 WMA and 3 MP3 files onto the player and have approx 25% memory left which isn't bad for a player that cost me £25. However, these are individul tracks rather than whole albums as I
found that albums took up more memory - e.g. I downloaded 2 albums with
approx 12 songs on each album and this took up almost half the memory for just 24 WMA files! So much for being able to download 15 albums!
There is no search facility so if you want to listen to a certin track you have to scroll through all the songs to get to it which can take quiote a
while. I've found it can also "crash" the player if you scroll through too quickly.
The rechargable battery appealed to me a lot - goodbye to buying batteries
every 4 weeks - but I am disappointed that the life is quite poor. The decsription says 12 hours playback however my one lasts about 4 hours and you have to recharge it through the PC which takes about 6 hours so that's really quite rubbish!
The ear plugs which come with the player are also fairly rubbish as the lead is really short so you aren't able to slip it in your pocket or bag.
You can however use any standard earphones with the player so I just discarded the supplied ones.
The volume is really good however! It is quite loud so you can drown out any over-loud voices on the bus/train but without other people being
forced to also listen to your music - which I always find annoying!
You can't really boast with this player, especially when your friend has the lastest purple Sony player which holds approx 15,000 tracks, has a search facility by artist, track, genre or album AND a rechargable battery lasts for about 3-4 weeks. One small thing you can boast about though is the volume as the MP F57 is about 30% louder than the Sony!
If cheap and cheerful is what your after this is the player for you but I would be very disappointed if I spent more than £25 on it! Rating:
