Reviewed by Tucker Parsons on 30-01-2004 Bought the 40 gig Nomad Jukebox 3 just before Christmas. It was buggy at first, but based on online advice I upgraded the firmware (a simple operation if you have a network connected PC) and all the crashing stopped. I loaded songs in, bought a stereo to mini cable from Radio Shack, and plugged the jukebox into my home stereo. It runs beautifully. It has a massive amount of room in it, enough to contain my entire record collection. We will be jockeying CDs no more. The Creative Play Center software is a little goofy looking and isn't 100% stable, but I have found it adequate. The Jukebox price is very high, given that Creative Nomad Zen 40 gig is about $130 less, but my research made me believe that Jukebox 3 was optimized for home stereo use (it has two line-out jacks in addition to a headphone jack). I am very happy so far with the purchase. I didn't bother with the IR remote or the docking station, the IR remote only lets you skip ahead or behind or change volume, (to let you navigate remotely they would need an LCD on the readout). Overall - happy. Rating:
