Reviewed by Ron Ellis on 05/04/2008 Excellent TV bought after considerable deliberation. Little peturbed that a ZF version is about to be released with 100 hz (The XF is a 50hz TV) but motion tracking is still above average via 'active vision LCD.'and I feel that any perception of motion blurring, particularly on standard def, is more to do with low bit rate (quality) broadcasts, as sports look great on SKY HD. Also black levels are above the LCD TV average. High definition via SKY constantly invokes my amazement factor. Particularly impressed with the naturalness and saturation of colours. There is however a light bleed 'problem' from the screen corners, but this can be ameliorated/almost eliminated by turning the back light down, and anyway never becomes a distraction(Got some useful settings from various discussion forums) All this and a beautiful design- there is nothing else which currently compares to its visual aesthetics hence the design forum award. Reviewed by Brian C on 01/04/2008 Well just bought this TV main reason being its a 40 inch screen but the same size as other 37 inch models due to the slim bezel of the Toshiba. I was impressed in the shop at the display and always ask to see a standard TV program as the "Blue Ray" inputs are way above the normal TV broadcasts in terms of quality.Once home the Tosh needs a bit of tweaking as they seem to set the "backlight" / Brightness way too high but very soon an excellent picture was obtained. It looks a great set and the picture from Digital TV is quite good. The only downside is the 1920 x 1080 shows up poor quality Golf/football broadcasts. I guess HD TV from Sky or NTL would greatly improve this. DVD was very good, overall I am very pleased with this TV. Rating:
