I bought this tv having been told in the sony store that it was the newer version of the KLV23M1. It is indeed the newer version, however it no longer has virtual surround sound or the Wega engine nor is it HD ready. It takes alot of playing around with to get the settings right as they are terrible straight out the box, In fact I eventually I took mine back and swapped it for another lcd as however hard I tried I couldnt stop motion blurs on screen or occasional ghosting around text. The design of the tv is lovely, but I wouldnt recommend it. If you cant afford to buy from the brand new HD sony range, go for the older KLV23M1 instead (a little less attractive, but a whole lot better!)
