I agree with the previous reviewer. This is a superb TV for any price. I bought it to replace an old Sony plasma TV that had gone kasplut, and I've got to sday that this beats the old plasma, even though I paid a lot less than I did for the plasma a few years ago. That shows just how much the LCD technology has matured in the past 5 years. I was an early adopter of plasma and was cynical about moving to LCD, but I have to confess that I was wrong. LCD has come of age, and Sony are the kings of LCD screens IMO. Anyway, enough rambling, this TV gives excellent picture quality via SCART from the old DVD player and possibly even better quality when using Sky HD via HDMI (I upograded to Sky HD at the same time I bought this beauty). The audio quality is also very good from the speakers, although obviously you will get even better sound quality if you use a 5.1 surround system. I'm looking forward now to getting myself a BluRay player for Christmas. It will be a Sony obviously. Nice one!

This is the best LCD on the market for the price band and I'm sure even more expensive models will not beat the overall performance of the KDL-40W4000. A very impressive TV with outstanding picture & sound quality.
