Reviewed by Ben on 14/04/2008 Sounds like Brian had the digital processing turned on used to boost quality of analogue signals and used the setting for digital signals. it does mess it up a bit. but if you know how and when to use it is brilliant. as is every aspect of this television! cant go wrong! Reviewed by Ed Green on 11/01/2008 I've had one of these for a month now and am delighted with the manufacturing quality and image, the sound is good too, though I usually run through my hifi. For best results use a digital source - straight digital tv is superb, hd tv better still, and upscaled dvds are excellent, but 1080p blu-ray source is stop and stare amazing. Rating:
Reviewed by Bharat on 05/01/2008 Not really a review- but it would seem Brian's experience goes completely against the grain. Most reviews are excellent. I suspect that Brian didn't adjust the settings from out of the box? There are recommended settings for watching films- in SD and HD, playing games watching sports etc on the internet (simple google search), as the Sony's seem to look very poor out of the box. Reviewed by Brian Garrod on 14/12/2007 This set does not match the quality of the packaging and advertizing blerb one little bit. The set looks good but the picture quality was very poor and was returned from where it came and replaced with a PHILLIPS 42PFL9632D that out performs it in almost every aspect. Cannot understand all the hype and respect for Sony in the trade. This is not the first Sony television I have been disapointed with. NO MORE SONY FOR ME I'M AFRAID, THEY ARE NOT WORTH THE MONEY.
