The Sony KDL-26U2000 is an excellent 26 inch HD Ready LCD TV available at a reasonable price.
The KDL-26U2000 is a beautiful looking flat panel television with a slim design and non-reflective coating on the frames. It has a high display resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, which is standard for a TV of this size. A fast response time of 8ms helps to reduce ghosting. However, with a Sony TV, the picture quality always exceeds the paper specification - Sony's Bravia Engine technology delivers outstanding picture quality for both High-Definition and normal video inputs. The TV also benefits from PIP (Picture In Picture) which lets you watch two different channels at the same time, and a new PIP Freeze feature, which lets you pause the picture while the sound continues. An integrated digital TV tuner (Freeview), which also receives analogue signals, makes installation easy.
Sound quality is good: the 26U2000 uses two 10W speakers with Virtual Dolby Surround Sound
The KDL-26U2000 has one High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) socket for connecting other High Definition devices. It also supports most other commonly used types of connection ports: Component video, SCART x2, RGB (PC input), audio output and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This makes it a reasonably well connected device, but the provision of a second HDMI sockets would have been a useful feature.
This is an excellent TV, but we prefer the Sony KDL-26S2010.

Great tv with a great picture

Controls slow to respond particularly channel changes. Remote control/on screen menus confusing and not easy to adjust in small increments, colours vivid but skin tones a bit washed out. Poor manual with little explained detail. Lots of adjustments to settings appear to have no discernable effect in reality. Good sound at high volume.
