The price of LCD TV's keeps creeping downwards, but you'll be hard pushed to find better value than the Samsung LE32R87BD. This is a best selling and very highly rated 32-inch HD-Ready flat panel television. The R87 series builds on the success of the R74 series, delivering plasma-quality pictures at a price that blasts most rivals out of the water. The only thing that we don't like about it is the glossy black frame. It looks nice when the TV is off, but can be distracting when watching a programme.
The LE32R87BD fully supports the High-Definition standard, with a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 and three HDMI sockets for connecting High Definition inputs such as a Sky HD box. The resolution of 1366 x 768 is typical for a 32 inch HD screen. The display has a fast response time of 8 milliseconds, to help reduce 'ghosting', a high dynamic contrast ratio of 8,000:1, 12.8 billion colours and a viewing angle of 178º. Samsung's DNIe technology renders images very nicely, with good colour saturation and sharpness. The new innovation for the R87 series that sets it apart from older generations of Samsungs is 'Movie Plus'. Movie Plus reduces motion judder when showing fast moving action in movies and sporting events. The result is picture quality that can match a plasma TV.
The LE32R87BD is equipped with two 'hidden bar type' speakers supporting NICAM Stereo and SRS TruSurround XT for a simulated surround sound effect. Total power output is 20 Watts (2 x 10 Watts), which is typical for a TV of this size.
The TV also offers iDTV (an electronic programme guide for the built-in Freeview digital tuner), Teletext (Mega TTX), Auto Channel Search, Game Mode (for use with a games console) and PIP (Picture-in-Picture). Picture-in-Picture enables you to watch two channels simultaneously, or to watch TV at the same time as viewing images from a DVD, PC, camcorder or other input device.
The connectivity of the LE32R87BD is outstanding with no fewer than 3 HDMI ports for connecting HD devices. There are 2 rear HDMI connections, suitable for connecting a Sky HD box and a HD Ready DVD player, and one side HDMI connection, which could be used to connect a games console. 3 HDMI ports is becoming the standard, and the Samsung delivers.
Apart from the glossy black frame, this is a perfect TV. It will deliver an outstanding picture and will connect to virtually any combination of devices that you might want. Take into account the value-for-money aspect and the Samsung LE32R87BD absolutely deserves its 5 stars.

This is truly the best lcd tv I have ever had the chance to own. In my opinion this beats all others. Picture quality in game mode on xbox 360 is outstanding. I highly recommend this to everyone and all of my friends.

I fully agree with the best reviews, this is a fantastic buy. Some have criticised the sound as being a bit thin, but with a little time spent adjusting the default settings this is easily overcome. I bought from Laskys, great price, half price stand (very good)and delivery within 4 days, highly recommended.
