Reviewed by jim wilson- glasgow on 06/01/2009 First things first... If thinking of buying then suggest you try Currys.- - Comet , Currys , Dixons and PC world all seem to be advertising at an identical price of approx. £1174.00 ( and they say there are no price cartels ? ) However , if you go to Currys website you will find that the are offering the TV alone for the store price , but if you buy as part of 2 bundles on offer, one with Home Cinema system , the other with a Blu-ray DVD , they claim you can make a package saving. The DVD I think offers a £50 saving , but the TV+ Home Cinema actually works out at under the price of the TV if bought alone! Seems crazy to me , but when I pointed out the offer when I visited the local store they duly gave me the TV and Home Cinema for less than the price of the TV, The home Cinema is on sale in Argos for £250. Currys have it on offer for £200.00, If you are seriously thinking about buying this TV , then get down there quick before they withdraw the on-line offer. Don't forget the half price stand offer. It will be a Serano S1050 ( clear) or SB1050 ( black). Highly recommend the SB1050 as it sets off the TV beautifully. Do not be put off by the description that the stand is suitable for smaller sets. The table is only slightly shorter than the TV, but supports up to approx 3 times the weight of the TV. The stand will cost just under £80 , can be bought for slightly less on the internet ( or a lot more. Search and see !) As for the set itself, it is alovely looking set and has loads and loads of features. Rather than me attempt to describe them it is probably best you read the independant reviews available on line. Apart from the amazing picture , it also has incredible sound quality , and that is without the home cinema. Voices are crystal clear. Swivel stand is a very useful addition. It certainly ticks all the boxes in terms of technology- Full HD1080p, 100Hz , Surround Sound ,Clear voice , Intelligent Picture , Invisible Speakers , Component , HDMI , USB , Scart , Tru Motion , 50000 contrast ratio, Freeview and much more ! When you consider that you are getting the Home Cinema ( 5:1) and a table worth over £300.00 - £450.00 between them , it means you are getting all the TV technology for about £900.00. Excellent value in my book. Rating:
