Bought this model from PC World. All ok except when a radio station was selected it cut off after a few minutes. I was advised that it was probably the aerial. 12 months later I fitted a new aerial still had the same fault. Spoke to LG customer services who asked for my proof of purchase, which I didn't have. As I had paid cash, there was no bank statement to show. I could tell them the specific day and store along with the serial number, but they insisted they couldn't do anything without proof of purchase. My point, faults with both my JVC camcorder and Fujifilm camera were sorted in a professional manner with out of date warranty products and without proof of purchase. Which company shall I avoid from now on, LG. Faults can and do occur on many electrical products, it's how a company deals with them that makes a big difference. LG, HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME.

After a lot of hassle last xmas. I purchased the 42LG7000 & couldn't have made a better purchase. I'd held out with my old Panasonic Quintrix & was apprehensive about purchasing an LCD, as I hadn't seen one with could match the standard picture quality of my Panasonic & I thought it might be too large (28" to 42") The TV is packed with features and will play music and photo's from it's USB slots. Picture quality is excellent, in fact I had to turn down the backlight and contrast, as I found that this TV can emit more than enough light and quite frankly it makes my eyeballs ache.] Sound quality is good, but if you're looking for volume and better quality buy some bolt on speakers & and amp. The bluetooth function is really useful. If you have a bluetooth camera phone u can send the pics straight to the TV to view. Haven't experienced 1 problem since installing and setup was easy too. All in all I haven't found a better quality LCD for the money out there & an very happy with the purchase. Would recommend to anyone. :o))

I think this tele is 100% worth the money, i'm now looking for one for my brother but can't find one for love nor money,HD and Blu-Ray are our of this planet on this tele, as for gaming on the PS3 in 1080p (TRY IT) you could never go back. for those of you who have tru motion every 5 mins you need to call you supplier, in my case it was currys who where very helpful and guided me thouth the manu and helped reset the tv. mine had tru-motion on as mine was a shop floor demo. i payed £549.00 for it but had i known just how good this tele was i would have payed £1000 for it no problem. My Advice Go Buy One NOW !!!

LG not going to repair the 42lg7000 I bought recently. Dixons have contacted me and have offered a new TV. This will NOT be an lg7000 -- looks like they have been discontinued. Fair play to Dixons, they've offered to match a replacement TV "Spec for Spec". I've asked them for a Panasonic ---- They are checking to see if there is stock of the model I've requested available in my area.

FIRST TV WAS CHANGED EVENTUALLY LAST WEEK BUT THE NEW ONE STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM SO IT'S NOW GOING BACK TO CURRYS FOR A REFUND.

Bought 42lg7000 from Dixons-on-line on 29/12/08. Problems with sound and now "ghosting" of red snooker balls during a game. Telephoned Dixons who told me "They knew about the sound problem and that I would need to contact LG" (Not them). LG said that sound problem would be resolved with software update (Via an engineer). Engineer contacted me and said that parts were needed from LG. Engineer still waiting for parts (ordered 26/01/09). Dixons and LG have let me down so far.

I bought my TV online from Dixons on 28/12. It is superb apart from when you watch snooker. The balls are sometimes out of focus as if you are looking at them through a fog. I rang LG. The advisor told me the technicians were aware of the problem and were working to resolve it. 2 weeks went by so I rang again. The advisor told me that this `GHOSTING` problem could not be fixed, I told him that wasn`t good enough. 2 days later an advisor rang me to say it could be fixed and that an engineer would be contacting me to repair the TV. That was a week ago and I have not heard anything since. I was told that other customers had complained about the same fault. Is this true?

Got one on 27th December- it has a faulty picture- can't use it at all. Currys can not replace as out of stock everywhere and can't fix it because no parts available. Offered a refund or alternative but £549 won't buy anything like this again. Derek said he saw one in Currys recently- where was it please? [Reply by Derek on 09/02/2008: To Sarah, I saw it in Curry's in the Bon Accord Centre in Aberdeen.]

I got my LG on Boxing day at the sales as well, but have been having problems with it. Now and again the screen goes blank for a couple of seconds. The last time it happened the tv was going blank all the time until I switched it off and back on. It was ok then. I am going to phone on monday to the helpline. Also, I have Setanta on the thomson top up tv box, and the picture is pathetic. All the football players have a haze around them. I did not have any problem with my phillips 32" crt tv. The instructions were very poor as well, and even worse on the LG home theatre system I bought at the same time. I had to go back into currys for set up advice. I would have been better talking to tv stand as they have no clue about the products they sell.

This TV is fab, bought it at the sales on Boxing Day at Currys for £549. My friend, couldnt get one, only the next one up (50LG7000) which was being sold for twice the price I paid for the 42LG7000. The bluetooth worked a treat on New Years Day showing pics to friends and the TV is also great for the XBOX360.

I brought mine a week ago. Very easy to set up and happy with it. Picture quality is excellent and the sound is ok. I would recommend using the lovely little option of screwing the stand into a wooden base to reduce the possibilty of it falling over. Sounds stupid but simple little things like that are brilliant ideas especially if you have children. I brought mine in the sales for £549 (Currys) and still wonder why its so cheap (think it was around £900 before). The 42LG5010 and 42LG3000 were more expensive but not a good a model as the 42LD7000. I think most were sold on Boxing day. Does anyone know why this model was so cheap in the sales?
