my dear friend, I have exactly the same problem but after 2 days of use luckily it worked 4 months

Nice TV with excellent picture, but only had it 4 months and the set refuses to come on. The green light flashes 3 or 4 times the pop it turns itself off suspect it has overheated and is now in a self protect mode. This seems to be a very common problem with the LG sets. I wish I had taken advice and left well alone
