Reviewed by Davey on 08/02/2010 Could not fault Mike Smith's review! I bought this tv also for £349.99 after searching everywhere becaquse the sales were sold out i got the last on on pixmania, which 20minutes later put the price up to £600 i was proud! lol Becuase of this i had to wait 2 months because of lack of stock. But when i got it, i couldnt help notice how nice looking i was and how easy it was to set up. The touch/heat sensitive buttons are something very special and rare to find on TV's. The remote is perfect unlike other LG's witht the guide as a very small button right at the bottom. The inputs are everything you need, optical input, 4 hdmis, 2 scarts, memory card readers, bluetooth, usb, pc input. Its everything you need! And since i have the tv tilted down at me on the bed its the perfect size. The speakers are also very good quality and knowone would expect better built in on a tv, if you needed more power people will just assume you get a 5.1 surround sound. Overall amazing tv, no faults Just perfect ;) Rating:
Reviewed by Adrian on 16/01/2010 I also got this TV last boxing day (2009). Seems to be a lot of people got it the same time. Well I think this is a great TV and it is my first flat screen. Since I bought this one I have bought 2 more (Pointless, I know). I love the look and feel of this TV. I like the speakers, the fact that they are hidden is fantastic and I love the touch sensor to power it on. I love the way there are 4 HDMI inputs as I am using 3 of them. The only thing is my speakers are broke. They seem to rattle a lot when lower frequencies are played through them such as a lot of bass. I dont know how this happened but it could have been a party and it was simply turned up too loud therefore it my fault. All in all this TV is the best flat screen I have bought yet..... Rating:
Reviewed by mariusz dural on 05/01/2010 in my view this is the best flat screen tv you can get on the market for the price (i bought mine for 349 ) and im very happy with my purchase im using it for more than a year and everything is okay no faults well done lg Rating:
Reviewed by Northern person on 29/10/2009 UPDATE. It's still to be avoided as it is now in it's 3rd different fault in less than a year. Awaiting - still - for the shop to answer my calls which they are not doing. If it was reliable it would be value for money but frankly, it is not worth the hassle of arranging repeated repairs for different faults on just 1 unit. Rating:
Reviewed by Northern person on 07/07/2009 To be avoided. When it works, it's fine with a few minor faults but it's now on it's second repair in 6 months with this time, the TV being away entering the third week. Lack of spare parts support & long repair time (still no date for returning it)mean it's not worth the risk of buying one if this is seen as acceptable by the makers. Rating:
Reviewed by sam on 17/05/2009 i bought one about 3 months ago for about £350 and it is definatly worth the money Rating:
Reviewed by L Lane on 02/04/2009 I also got this set on Boxing day for £349. It's my 1st flat screen tv & I have to say the quality is superb. very sleek. like the touch button, memory stick and flash card slots. You can use headphones if you have a bluetooth set, you can also upload photo's from your mobile. Have this set with SKY + HD via HDMI and the picture quality is great & so far no problems. The Hidden speakers are ok but if I watch a movie I go through an amp and turn these off Rating:
Reviewed by Sayed on 28/03/2009 For watching TV its pretty good & clear. The sound is OK, on full volume its not too loud. I got this TV at Christmas time for an AMAZING £350!!! From the front it looks brilliant, the black gloss & clear plastic at the bottom looks very classy indeed. I do like the soft touch buttons on the set & its very thin. The features are brilliant & are great value for money. I didn't like the fact that there is no headphone socket?!! And why the heck is there no off switch, it only goes to standby so you have to switch it off from the mains!! But the biggest problem is the interference you get when in HDMI mode, this happens with any device & in any resolution. A pity really... Rating:
Reviewed by Andy Coates on 13/01/2009 Got this tv in the sale. Plus my staff discount and what a bargain i got. such a great television. The contrast of 50,000 is un heard of on a 32 inch screen plus the 1080p , the only downside is the missing 100hz that the rest of the 7000 series has. Apart from this it is a great television. Glad i got it when i did as it has now gone up to £599.97 , plus added bonus..... uive got whatever happens on it and if i break it by accident in a few years (wink) i get £600 of vouchers for a replacement tv. Not bad for 315 quid and 4.00 a month. Rating:
Reviewed by Richard Vine on 10/01/2009 I also bought this in the sale at £349 and I agree with all the comments. 4 x HDMI on a TV at this price is unheard off. Bluetooth, well I am not sure if this is really needed as the USB slot in the side is great, this feature off by standard as well so if you want it you have to turn it on. I use it for the PS3 and I think it's really good, I have it set to the inteliigent sensor and I have to say it's not bad. I really want to tweak it so would love to know if anyone has got the settings perfect on expert. I had been looking for a 32 inch 1080p for ages and I am so pleased I got this TV. If you can get one for even £400 you would be pleased. Rating:
Reviewed by NateDoggUK on 09/01/2009 Just managed to pick one of these up to replace my 2yo Samsung HD Ready 23" LCD. The difference when using both my 360 and PS3 is astounding. I can only echo what some of these other reviews say about the picture quality, the contrast ratio gives this LCD an amazing depth of colour. I've not had the chance to watch any HD broadcasts yet but once Sky HD is in (ordering this month) I'll be sure to come back and update. My PS3 running under full 1080i looks fantastic and fully utilises everything this display can do. Managed to pick this up in PC World for a paltry £349. For that kind of money I'd have been happy with most 32" LCDs but in this case the value for money is amazing. I bought this tv purely on it's technical specs, even compared to some £550-600 32" LCD from competitors this blows them out of the water. If you're in the market for a new 32" LCD pray your nearest Currys or PCWorld has any left. I reserved mine online and when I arrived to collect it there were another ten sat waiting for their new owners, they must be selling very quickly. Rating:
Reviewed by Jim on 08/01/2009 I was one of the lucky ones to buy this tv in the sale for £349 which an extremely good price for what you are paying for. I only have a few niggles and that is the factory picture settings aren't the best I still need to tune them up, also the sound quality isn't very good, lg have boasted about there invisible speakers but it seems to be quite loud when the volume is low and doesn't really seem to increase when you turn the volume up, also their is a lack of bass which sort of ruins it for me, however a surround sound would solve all of this! Overall this is a great tv for me as my main use for it is with an xbox 360, the 1080p is brilliant and there are plenty of hdmi ports (4) for you to enjoy many things in 1080p. Rating:
Reviewed by christine on 03/01/2009 I also bought a 32LG7000, great price etc, really impressed with the TV but not being technically minded, have not yet managed to perfect the picture so the review sent in by token 28/12/08, you seem to have achieved the perfect picture in expert mode, I dont suppose you could let me have your settings. Rating:
Reviewed by Washing Machine on 01/01/2009 Bought the display model on 28/12/08 for full price because there were 'about two thousand' on order. Fine appearance, attractive red styling strip... but picture setting returns to vivid within ten minutes of any other adjustment, and that's too bright. Tried fresh setup, checked version of software installed, disconnecting cable TV box. Friends who bought same model confirm that picture settings are secure on their example. Er... and the Bluetooth file transfer works only for images - music and movies are rejected. A shame, but it's back for a fix or refund tomorrow. Rating:
Reviewed by Colin Dawson on 28/12/2008 I purchased my 32lg7000 in the christmas sale for 349. At this price, it's simply the best. With a superb LG LCD screen, the contrast ratio is amazing with a crystal clear sharp and vivid image that will really bring any image to life. Been a user of other LG LCD Screens (19" and 24" PC Monitors) This screen does not fail to live up to my extremely high expecations of an LG Screen. The amount of connectivity options, HDMI *4, Scart * 2, Component, 15 pin Sub-d, Composice and S-Video, you really cannot fail to have enough options to connect your various devices. The sound is OK for a TV, but as Mike says if you want your room to shake don't expect the built in speakers to make this happen. The setup was very easy (although, I didn't bother programming the channels yet) and was playing my xbox360 in 1080p mode within 3 mins of getting it out of the box. The RS-232 port will allow the TV to connect to home automation systems. This sounds like a gimic at the moment and most people won't need this. for £600 this TV would be well worth the money, for £349 (what I paid in the sales HAHA) it must be the bargin of the year! Rating:
Reviewed by Token on 28/12/2008 This is a superb TV. Way better than I ever expected. Initially I wasn't convinced because the factory picture settings aren't good enough. Just switch to EXPERT mode and you can tune it to perfection. It will blow you away. Rating:
Reviewed by Mike Smith on 29/11/2008 The 32LG7000 is the smallest screen size in LG's new 7000 series. LG really have pushed the limits of LCD technology to new heights with these new top of the range models which feature an impressive 50,000.1 contrast ratio, Dual XD picture enhancement, 4 acoustically tuned speakers and comprehensive connectivity inputs. There is even Bluetooth technology to beam pictures and MP3 files from other Bluetooth devices, a feature that is guaranteed to impress your friends when they call round to show off their new 8mp camera phones. As soon as you take it out of the box the 32LG7000 impresses with it's high gloss piano black finish and stylish eliptical stand. The frame is wafer thin measuring just 2 inches from front to back, with a scarlet red edge adding to it's overall good looks. This is one beautiful piece of kit. Hooking up external equipment is a breeze as LG provide 4 HDMI inputs, 2 standard scart sockets, component and AV connectors, PC and USB inputs, not forgetting a standard antenna input for the built in Freeview tuner. After switching on the initial set up takes about 5 minutes to scan and store all the available Freeview channels. First impressions were very favourable with the quality of standard definition pictures being marginally better than a Humax HD Freesat box, but a Thomson DTI6300 PVR was noticably superior in sharpness, and the ability to reproduce fine detail. Hi Def pictures through the Humax were simply stunning, showing the enormous contrast ratio off to full effect, producing dazzling peak whites and rich deep blacks without any loss of detail. This is a tv to silence the critics of LCD technology, who believe only Plasma's can reproduce detailed pictures with such a high contrast ratio. Colours are rich and vibrant, but also extremely natural, giving the overall picture a wonderful 3D effect. The LG 7000 series is truly state of the art at an affordable price. The only disappointment being that LG have omitted 100hz true motion technology from the 32 inch version, but have included it in the rest of the range. A £100 step up to the 37 inch version would be advisable in order to reduce motion blur to a minimum, even though this panel has a excellent response time of just 6 ms, but the general verdict is that the 32inch version is still one of the best around at an affordable price. Unlike other tv's in this class, I have yet to feel the need to make any alterations to the pre-set factory settings. LG seem to have got the picture spot on straight out of the box, but should you feel the need to experiment, they provide 2 'Expert' profiles where you are able to taylor the picture to suit your own individual taste. You would need specialist calibration equipment to get it right as it means complex adjustments to the hue and contrast of each individual colour, but on the basis that if it aint broke don't fix it, there really is no need as LG have done it all for you and got it spot on. Of course a terrific picture should be backed up by a sound quality to match. LG use 4 downward facing speakers which give a clear, detailed and tactile dynamic sound, but don't expect floor shaking bass, as with most LCD tv's in this class, if you want outstanding sound to match the outstanding picture, you will have to invest in a decent 5.1 surround sound system. That is not damning the sound of the tv which is very good, but just a statement of fact. To sum up, LG have extended the bounderies of LCD technology with the 7000 series. The 32LG7000 is stunning whether on or off and comes highly recommended at a price of around £575-£600. Samsung, Sony and Panasonic need to look to their laurels as I really cannot see how current LCD technology can provide a better performance at such an affordable price. Rating:
