Reviewed by Pete on 12/02/2010 Good value TV with all the features I wanted. Picture and audio options need getting used to - too many. Picture too dull if 'energy saving' on. Some lip-sync problem especially noticeable if speaker/singer is in close-up. PC connection works well, separate audio cables needed. Note: press FN & F5 on PC together if not working. Pity that full manual is on disc only. Freesat ok. Excellent replay via bluray DVD player via HDMI, also LG. Rating:
Reviewed by TV Geek on 13/12/2009 Forced into getting a new televison JUST before Christmas as my old CRT gave up the ghost. I settled on this LG 32LF7700 as I needed a TV that would manage to "live" with my existing older PVR & DVD/HDD video recorders and my DVD player. But have features that would allow me to move into the future for HD 1080p, blu-ray, etc., This TV appears to have it all. It has a manual that is simple to understand and not written in translated chinese/japanese. The remote control is a treasure and so easy to use and the "eco" settings are nice and handy to choose what you want, with a proper ON/OFF switch on the TV it does run cheaper than my old CRT model. Tuning in was a doddle and the EPG lists are nice and clear with NO stupid adverts interupting your view of the list (are you listening Panasonic NO adverts!!) With 2 scart sockets all my old kit has managed to slot in a treat and I have 3 HDMI sockets for the future. The built in freesat is a real treat, I had considered not bothering with built in freesat, as I already had a freesat box (a non HD one) but I am SO glad I did get it with the freesat built in, HD is going to be really great when it gets going, well worth the extra lolly now. The USB port is great for pictures, I bought an SD card reader from the £shop.... yeh! the £shop, and just popped in my picture disk slipped the reader into the USB slot and up came all the photos in amazing clarity. I have not tried the music bit yet but if it is as good as the pictures I will be delighted I am sure. If I was going to have a niggle about this TV it would be the location of the internal speakers, they are at the front beneath the screen... so far so good, BUT some designer dip-stick has them focusing down towards the floor and then has placed a thick piece of smoked plastic trim protuding down from the front of the TV deflecting the sound back towards the wall.... uhhh!! The result is that a lot of sound is "lost" absorbed by the wall or floor before it gets to the viewer. So IF you are into music and Movie sound surround you are going to need one of those home cinema speaker systems. For me it is fine as I do not like to be deafened into submission by a program/movie but I think this might be a weakness for others. Overall though I would highly reccommend this TV it is really easy to use and give great quality/compatability and value for money. TV Geek Rating:
