This is a great little system and very original in the looks department. The picture quality from the DVD Player is very precise warm and clear and the sound equally. A slight letdown was in the sound department however. It lacks a little warmth to me giving a slight harshness to the sound. The sub doesnb?Tt reproduce sound above 90khz, which might be the reason because the little full range drivers in the sats relay don't create a warm lower tone due to the size. I have to say that the sound however is crisp and Bass response relay shakes the floorboards. Just needs some warmth in that centre speaker though.!

Always go for Yahama. Because its a quality product build from 100% top manufacturer! It's not my first yamaha and the DVX S80 kit has the exceeded my expectations yet again! Excelent sound quality. I'd recommend it! buy it!

I was looking for a new Hi-fi system at the time, but in two minds wether to look at a complete dvd home cinema system or a standard seperate Hi-fi system comprising of and audio amp, seperate CD. This would also mean that I would also need to souce a good quality DVD player. I Purchased my Yamaha DVXS80 for Christmas 03 at Miller Bros Electrical. When I got it home and rigged it up, I was most impressed first in the quality of sound through the stereo mode [ i.e through the sub and the two front speakers ] Equally important was the resolution of the picture quality of the DVD player and the whole movie theater sound of the entire system. Good work Yamaha.
