Worked fine for the first year but now keeps stopping and wont play some DVD's at all!

I bought this system last year from currys, within 4 months it started freezing and stop playing, then it got choosy as to which disc it would or wouldnt play! turn it off and on again and it would either play the dvd etc that it previously refused or just turn itself off! Problems with sound quality at times, it was directly connected to my samsung 40in lcd hi def tv and the rear speakers would often sound squelchy or no sound at all. It has now given up the ghost and wont even power up, engineer has looked at it and written it off as uneconomical to repair!! normally i would recommend samsung equipment but on this occassion on this model, its definately not worth buying. i recon everyone who bought this model will have these freezing problems at some stage sooner or later as its obviously an inbuilt design fault.

Had this model for over a year absolutely no problems with playback or sound. Plays almost any media I put in it. The only thing it needs is an optical input.....

I love this product, however, it does get jumpy and freezes at times, only because you have to unload memory which is not too hard at all. For example, I used my usb flash drive for music, but then to switch to another usb or cd,dvd,dvix cd, I have to switch function to aux to unload memory because the player tries to remember where you left off incase you want to continue from that point. Understanding this it pretty much solved why it would freez or video would crack at times. I hope this helped, i would not trade my samsung for anything, for now at least, I love it.

Super low price. Combined with some good selection of dvd's has powerful and clear sound. Here's some tip for music listening. Conect it to your pc. Use media player with full range equlizer. Boost your slider on 32hz up and you will have louder sound and much lower bass compare to if you just play your music cd's in your dvd. Try getting movie dvd's that support dts sound instead dolby digital. Much better detail and full range bass. Better and more realistic surround effects. I tested it with Master and Commander.

Fantastic sound, no problems with it freezing like the other 2 guys have said, only problem i have is finding compatible discs to use with the DivX. im using fairly good ones at the mo and they r very jumpy, i had some cheaper datawrite discs which work perfect, will go bak 2 them as they work. Fantastic piece of kit and it looks stunning in black

would definately not buy another. keeps freezing, so after exchange guess what. still the same. swopped for different system.
