Reviewed by David on 28/03/2007It looks great... but thats it. What a piece of rubbish. Philips didn't bother with the sound quality. The speakers are ridiculous i resorted to filling the speaker cabinet up with cotton wool because the mid range was so hollow that it was echoing and vibrating through the cabinet walls. It also has a stupid fan on the back that is noisier than my pc. Remote doesn't respond unless you press the source that your on again. Try before you buy people. Every other philips i have bought has been outstanding WHAT HAS HAPPENED HERE?! I regret wasting my hard earned money. Think laser in player is trying to be too clever/cope with too many formats and the slightest imperfection throws it. Mine has gone back for repair as I loose the Tweeters during a song and only get bass. Sometimes I get a whole CD of perfect sound and then the problems come back. I have similar problems than the ones described in the previous reviews: cd player jumps randomly during listening; this happens with all cds tested so far. The same cds work fine with other players.
