Reviewed by anonymous on 25-04-2005 Yes, reasonable product but I have taken note of one particular chaps' comments on the LG dv1010 and I have to say that I agree. The dvd player on this one however, yes it's a gooden' but it does not actually beat the dvd part of the LG dv1010, even though it comes from one of the leading names in dvd technology (Sony). Though from the point of view from the purchaser of an LG dv1010 well, need I go on, you could say that LG just about shades it over Sony in the latest advances in dvd technology, as well as vcr (debatable perhaps). And, for a dvd player to have a more than decent sidekick in vcr technology (refering to the LG dv1010 once again), which one would you pay more attention to? Enough said for now. Rating:
Reviewed by John Lewis on 21-01-2005 Wanted a multi-region DVD player to replace my old Sony DVD player. Couldn't believe the price of this one. Value for money is outstanding. Only thing to watch is that you need a TV with SCART input otherwise you won;t be able to watch region 1 disks. That's because the region 1 disks output a NTSC signal. Check for compatibility with your TV before buying. Rating:
Reviewed by David Aldridge on 23-08-2004 Bought this player a few months ago. I wanted something that could play +RW discs from my recorder & had to be Multi-Region as half my +collection is multi-region. the Sony S355 was very simple to setup, had it up and running in minutes..It even plays DVD+RW created on Philips recorder all with no probs. As far as value for money is concerned , this is a neat little player that will handle anything bar the advanced resolution audio formats (DVD-A/SACD). If you are just looking for an all-round player to hook-up to a TV, you can't go wrong. I'd recommend the Sony S355 machine. Rating:
