Reviewed by Alan Greenwood on 02/05/2006 I have owned this camera for one year now. I use it frequently and can honestly say that it has proved faultless. I had some reservations about the revolving lens wearing out but after 3000+ pictures it remains as new. I carry this small camera in my pocket, where it fits easily so I do not need a case hanging around my shoulder. The images are bright and clean, it responds quicker than any digital camera I have owned. I am only sad that if it has not already been discontinued, it inevitably will without leaving a succesor. Finally, this is the first camera my gadget shy wife loves to use. Rating:
Reviewed by Michael Foster on 19/09/2005 The picture quality is excellent. Unfortunately the camera stopped taking pictures after a mere two months and Sony refused to repair the camera under warranty, claiming grit had entered the camera. They also tried to charge me over £50 for refusing a repair estimate that was higher than the original cost of the camera. This has destroyed my previous high opinion of Sony and their products. I would never consider buying anything else from Sony after this experience. I had also purchased a number of accessories for the camera, eg additional memory stick, spare battery and charger, which are now totally useless without a working camera. I believe the problems arise from the swivel design of the lens assembly - if it lets in grit, what is going to happen when there is dust about?! Rating:
