Had Pentax Film Cameras for years, MX, Me-Super etc, However my first digital was a Nikon D1x(excellent) then a D200(good but production flaws) Decided to change back to pentax, was going for the K10D, however finances only allowed the K100D. What a superb little camera, smaller and lighter than the D200, excellent picture quality for a 6Mpixel, very little noise up to ISO800, Metering works very well, Fast startup,overall a big improvement over the iST Range! The chassis is metal (important for me)not horrible plastic! One of the best features is the acceptance of all my old Pentax K mount and Takumar lenses which are pin sharp! These can be used on Manual mode, using the d.o.f button to enable the light metering and changing aperature and shutter speed to suit - excellent! Gets my recommendation if you are looking for a good 6mpixel SLR its difficult to fault. The company that produced the first 35mm Reflex SLR are back to their usual standard, High quality in a small package! CN
