The Kodak Z740 Zoom boasts a huge 10x optical zoom lens which combines with the 5x digital zoom for a 50x total zoom. This camera has a large number of manual controls suitable for the more advanced user but also comes equipped with 16 pre-set scene modes and 5 different colour modes. Video recording with sound is also a feature, making this a high-spec, versatile camera.
The LCD screen is not quite as big as that found on the Kodak Z730 Zoom which has a very generously sized 2.2" screen. The number of scene and colour modes are the same on both cameras. Like the Kodak Z730, this camera is aimed at the serious amateur or enthusiast.

Had this camera for 3 years and well it is the best camera I have ever had. Picture quality is superb and has loads of different modes and features. Only bad point is the battery life. Batteries run out very quickly if using regular batteries, lithium batteries don't run out as quikly but they are more pricey.

this camera would have been a 5 star rating but a few months after purchase it gave a an error see #e45 message on the lcd. the camera is dead in the open position. im working on trying to contact the company or the store that sold it to me. otherwise the thing is exellent has lots of bells and wistles zoom is awesome. im just hoping that mine just has a firmware problem. and is an isolated problem i like my z740. hope this thing is not a lemon, good luck,

This camera is awesome for an amatuer photographer. I have been a photographer for almost 13 years and sometimes I choose this camera to take some shots over my professional SLR. Overall, outstanding camera.

My first digital and I am loving it! Same issue as the person commenting before me --- I am online to find a suitable bag for this model camera... no luck so far. They are all either too big or too small. Remember the old 35mm cameras with the hard shell case that just protected the camera, not all these added pockets, clips and straps. I just want to pad the camera itself and maybe have room for an extra memory card and 2 batteries. Does anyone know of any such product? I will check back to see if anyone had any suggestions. LOVE the camera, highly recommend it! If there was a 10 star rating, thats what I would rate it.

This is my first digital camera MY daughter picked it out for me,because she thought it would be easier for me to use. I'm learning a little at a time how to use it I especially like the way it takes close up pictures of my cat & dog. I'm 75 years old & it takes a old granny a lttle longer to learn. Now if i could just find a bag for it. So far i have been unable to do so.Thank you for your time.
