Fuji FinePix A330 Zoom

Product Rating

Fuji FinePix A330 Zoom The Fuji FinePix A330 Zoom is one of Fuji's entry level cameras amongst their current range. Compared to their most basic camera (the A120) this camera offers slightly more megapixels (3.2 as against 3.1) but most importantly it offers a 3x optical zoom lens (the A120 has a fixed focus lens.) The optical zoom allows you to zoom in on your subject without loss of picture quality. The digital zoom is lower than in the A120, but digital zoom is hardly required when optical zoom is available. Movies are recorded at 10 fps which is not going to give brilliant quality, so regard this as a stills camera first and foremost. Small and compact, it offers good, all-round functionality at a good price.

Features of the Fuji FinePix A330 Zoom include:

  • 3.34 Megapixels
  • 3x Optical Zoom
  • 1.6x Digital Zoom
  • Memory Type: xD Picture Card
  • Included Memory Size: 16 MB
  • Autofocus & Zoom
  • 35mm Equivalent: 38 - 114 mm
  • Flash Built-In & Flash Sync with Red Eye Reduction
  • Aperture Range: f9.5 - f2.8
  • Shutter Speed: 2 - 1/2000 sec
  • White Balance: Auto, Manual (Outdoor, Shade,Fluorecent,Warm White,Cool White,Incandescent Light)
  • With Video Capability
  • 2 x AA Alkaline Batteries, 2 x AA NiMH Batteries (optional), Rechargeable Battery NH-10 (optional)

Just got this camera and so far, so good. It's cheap but gives good results. Macro allows close ups to about 6cm from the lens. Images seem good, indoor flash pics look ok too. No manual focus, mostly auto everything so don't expect to do much except point and click. Movie mode is only low resolution and no sound. It can be used as a webcam if using Windows XP SP1 or SP2 but a £15 webcam probably is just as good, or bad! So overall a good purchase... great value, great images, real optical zoom lens, what more can I say?!

I think that it is an outstanding camera for its price in my experience the picture quality matches that of the more expensive Digimax 530 camera from Samsung the only differences are the ammount of pixels and zoom distance. this is a highly recomended camera by me if you cannot afford the more expensive range and nothing will make me change my mind the price is very cheap for its quality it is what i would class as the perfect Working Class camera there is 1 down point and that is unless the flash or autoflash function is chosen the picture will pick up evn the slightest movement that you might make other than this this is Definetly a 5 star camera for price and its the same for its quality.

This is my third digital camera. I bought it so my kids could take photos and not use my expensive Canon G5. I was looking for a £100 camera that would give reasonable pics. The Fuji Finepix A330 gave me photos that were very impressive. Very easy to use without reading the instructions. Although if you want to get the best out of the camera READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. This camera has quite a range of features that make it a steal at £100. After using my Canon G5 I thought a second, cheap digital camera would be possibly a waste of money. I could not have been so wrong. My only negative points are no rechargables or charger with the camera. Also a bigger storage card would have been nice. Then again for the price am I just being greedy. A very impressive 8/10 from me.

This is my first camera and I am overall amazed with it. It takes great pictures and the optical zoom is great. However, the quality of the movie feature is not up to par. It doesn't have sound, great quality, and the 60 second interval is not quite enough. The software was easy to install as well. I just bought the camera to take pictures with and I was using the recording feature just to check it out to see the quality. If you are only taking pictures, this camera is great, easy to use and looks stylish. I highly recommend it.

My 3rd digital, previous ones were Fuji and Olympus. I returned to Fuji because picture quality (IMHO) is better than most others I've seen. A330 is a basic camera and ideal for point & shoot. Its build quality is OK, it is plastic, but it's fairly robust. The sliding cover is flimsey and a bit ugly, but functional - It does come undone easily in the pocket though. Pictures are great, nicely in focus with vibrant colours. The 3M pixels produces an A4 print on glossy paper from my HP deskjet 890C (photoret II) that is superb, and as good as an optical 35mm print. Start up time is very good, make sure you carry spare batteries - Battery life is as good as any other camera, but when they die they die quick without much prior indication. The camera uses AA size, so can be replaced easily from a nearby supermarket. When the shot is taken and being stored, the camera freezes, the viewfinder works, but the zoom doesn't, but this is a minor irritation and is soon available again. Outside shots are better than the ones using the flash. Pictures taken outside with the flash seem slightly red. You must get a 64 or 128 Meg XD card to get a reasonable amount of picture storage. Friends of mine have A310 and A303's, and there is no noticable difference in picture quality. Overall a great camera for the price, I'm pleased with it. Software is very good, price is very good, 10 out of 10 for picture quality and ease of use. 7 or 8 for build quality and design.
