Reviewed by Jean Dufour from Canada on 18/09/2006 After 1 year and 4 month of use, i really liked my camera until i got "Memory Card Error" everytime i'm opening it. Canon service estimed a price of 140$ to repair it... i'll never buy canon product again or recommand it. Rating:

Reviewed by David on 22/08/2004 This is a powerful and compact digital camera which is capable of taking very good pictures. The movie mode is only VGA, so its quality ain't fantastic, but for still pictures it's very good. It comes with a good megapixel rating and a high powered zoom lens and is easy to use. Rating:
Reviewed by Rauta from Finland on 04/08/2004 Nice things: - 10x optical FAST and silent zoom kicks! - Image Stabilator kicks even more! - Nice LCD (after firmware update, without new fw it freezes while Auto Focusing), flexible, fast refresh, quite small though - Good lens quality, although slight lens flares especially at long exposure nightshots - Quite many buttons so no menus required at basic shooting - Movie Mode has nice quality but more than 100mb/1min with best quality?!! Not so nice things: - Slightly noisy pictures at some circumtances - You can't shoot at very dark, because you can't see nothing at LCD nor Elec-viewfinder - Manual Focus is not so good... - Lens Cap Overall nice camera. With Teleconventer you can have 600mm zoom which is HUGE! Image Stabilization works! In Wide-mode i've taken 2sec picture without shake in result! Rating:

Reviewed by Joe on 30/06/2004 On the whole this is a very good camera, apart from when you are using the movie mode. It somewhat drains batteries, and doesn t some supplied with a sufficient amount of memory which means you have to buy additional and quite a bit at that! Other than that, this is a very good camera and does take good images. Rating:
Reviewed by dave clarke on 09/04/2004 I've had the canon s1 now for about a week, the s1 takes very good photos. best features of the camera are the image stabiliser, huge zoom, quality of the photos are very good. however the low light focus is an issue (focus ability). quality of the movie mode is good BUT you wont get long on the flash card supplied even with a 512 mb flash card the record time is only 4.5min on highest resulution. bottom line i would recommend the s1 its a very capable digicam.
