Canon IXUS 900 Ti
With an impressive 10 megapixels, the Canon IXUS 900 Ti is the highest resolution IXUS camera to date (launched in September 2006.) Up to 12x zoom is available when combining the optical and digital zoom and there is also a Digital Tele-Converter to give you greater distance such as you would get if you used an optical tele-converter lens. The camera is operated by using a Touch Control Dial on the back of the camera. The Canon IXUS 900 Ti is made from titanium, making it both stronger and lighter than the equivalent would be in stainless steel. The camera is styled in the Perpetual Curve design favoured by Canon for this range of cameras.
The DIGIC III processor (Canon's third generation DIGIC processor) used in this camera introduces Face Detection AF/AE which is a feature that automatically detects up to nine faces in a scene and sets the auto focus and auto exposure accordingly aiming to give the best possible portraits. The DIGIC III processor also uses Noise Reduction technology for low-light photography at ISO 1600.
The scene modes available with this camera are Auto, Manual, Digital Macro, Color Accent, Color Swap, Stitch Assist and Movie. The Special Scene settings for use in tricky situations are Portrait, Night Snapshot, Kids & Pets, Indoor, Foliage, Snow, Beach, Fireworks, Aquarium, Underwater and ISO 3200. There are also plenty of photo effects for you to get creative. Using the My Colors feature choose from Vivid, Neutral, Sepia, Black & White, Positive Film, Lighter Skin Tone, Darker Skin Tone, Vivid Blue, Vivid Green, Vivid Red and Custom Color. Photo effects can be applied in-camera either during or after shooting.
25 languages are supported on the menu as follows: English, German, French, Dutch, Danish, Finnish, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Chinese (traditional), Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, Korean, Greek, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Thai, Arabic, Ukrainian and Romanian.
The camera is powered by a rechargeable li-on battery and both the battery and charger are supplied. This camera takes a Secure Digital (SD) Card, Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Card or a MultiMediaCard (MMC). A 32MB memory card is supplied with the camera.
