Reviewed by Tom on 08/09/2007 I got one of these from halfords and I must say it isn't too good. I can only have a small sub because i drive a Mini and i wanted to keep the boot and back seats, this looked as if it could be just the thing for me, and with it being alpine i thought it would be good quality. on some songs it sounds alright but on others if i turn the gain up to a level where it gives a noticable increase in bass it will make horrible noises. I think it could be broken but it's been like it since i got it, either that or my other speakers are too loud and it can't keep up (i do have some infinity 6x9's running off a Vibe black box amp). If this is what it's supposed to be like I am glad I only paid £40 (it was on clearance) for it rather than the full £150. Rating:
Reviewed by Nicholas Lawrence on 12/04/2007 I picked up this subwoofer because I drive a two-seater car, and am too old for a heart pounding 12"/15" bass box (i'm twenty five, lol!!) The subwoofer itself was easy to fit after blowing a couple fuses, however, the sound is amazing. I wasn't expecting miracles from such a small unit - honestly speaking, the bass doesn't drop into the lower Hz region that accurately (although it seems to progress with volume increase!!!). For general listening I think it's fine, it's loud, and it's CHEAP!!!! What more do you want?!??? (maybe Alpine should pay me for this???? :) ) www.myspace.com/nlawrencemusicproductions Rating:
