I've had the RA650 in 5 cars since I bought it the day I passed my test, and the only bad time I experienced was when I had to wait for it to be taken from my old car and put into my new one, and having to settle for a JVC item for 2 months. I can't stress how good this thing is, the operations are a little hard to get used to at first but in the end it all makes for a better personal sound setting, the EQ is fully adjustable for bass, midrange, and high, plus the mid-high and mid-low, subwoofer and other settings for tweeters and treble so as not to make your ears bleed too much when you do decide to crank it up. Which leads me to the next good thing about this unit: It's very loud. But if you don't spend a bit of money on good speakers then i'm sorry to say you just won't get to experience the quality of sound that this thing pumps out, even if you want to crank it right up, the quality stays 100% as long as your speakers are up to the job, it's truly amazing. An d better, I can safely say, with the right set-up, that my old man's Mark Levinson stereo in his Lexus IS300. It looks great at night too, granted it hasn't got a colour screen or dvd player, it does have a few EQ visuals and a couple of quirky other visuals thrown in but at the end of the day this unit is about stunning sound quality, great looks and little else. I have looked for better ones, and sampled ones that promised to be better but i'm sticking with this until it (hopefully it won't) dies. Even trying one in a car audio shop won't do it justice, just trust me, buy the unit, spend £300/400 on speakers, and revel in the magnificence :o) You won't be let down I promise you!
