Reviewed by Ken Wynes on 19/07/2009 Don't believe it.I have had this camcorder for 2 years now,I import it into Uleads Studio11,then edit Mpeg2 files in Pinnacle Liquid Editions with great results.Exalent camcorder. Rating:
Reviewed by Roy Hopkins on 22/02/2009 I have a very good spec PC and use Pinnacle 12 for editing. What a nightmare !!!!!! When an HD disk is imported, it splits the scenes 2 or 3 frames late so each clip in the album has the first few frames of the next scene at the end, so when you see the scene you want to drag to the timeline, you have to select the previous one, and delete the end bit EVERY TIME. As for HD, it imports the whole disk without splitting the scenes at all ie only the first frame is shown in the album making editing very difficult. After many months of experimenting eg import to Mpeg then into Pinnacle,I have had to accept that I must forgo digital quality and capture via composite cable. Also, annoyingly, if you use non-Sony disks, the first 5 seconds of potential recording is prevented by blanking out the viewfinder with a message saying "Sony Disks Recommended". What a pity that such a good all round, quality camera is only any use to amateur, non editing, buyers. Add to this the nuisance of formatting, finalising, and unfinalising the disks, and I will buy Panasonic or Canon (Flash memory type) in future. Rating:
