I have given this camcorder an "excellent" rather than "outstanding" only because it has no wind shield/filter and the audio is compromised on a windy day. However, this camera definitely merits its "excellent". The picture quality is superb and extremely stable. The 25x zoom, even when hand-held, is amazing. I'm getting on a bit and can't hold it very steady, but this camera makes up for that... I took a video of a boat just visible on the horizon and when fully optically-zoomed, people's faces were almost recognisable. No mean acheivement! Battery life is around 90-100 minutes. Better than a lot of similar models. Well done Sony on a great product.
