I bought this camcorder 3 days ago. The 1st thing that struck me was how small and light it is. 54 hours of recording time, in lowest quality, and 14 hours at best quality is excellent. The AV lead supplied is only L+R + composite video, so not great quality when played back directly on a large screen. BUT... transfer your recordings onto DVD, an easy process with the supplied software, and you'll be amazed at the quality... not far from broadcast standard in my opinion! The zoom, at x50, seemed excessive to me. But when trained onto an object a few hundred yards away, then switching on the O.I.S., I couldn't really believe wat I was seeing. I am getting on a bit and can't hold a camera steady to save my life, but the OIS makes it all very possible. All-in-all, an excellent buy at whatever price, but especially at £250, the price I found it for.
