Reviewed by Phil Paterson on 05-05-2005 A very simple camera to use even for a novice. this camera is a very powerful performer.it offers a great picture quality with excellent colour rendition. The sound is also very good being crisp and clear but annoyingly there is too much motor noise transmitted onto the tape. This spoils quiet scenes where it will be heard and transmitted onto your final edited tape or DVD. Jvc quality control is poor as i have had two replacements and both have been same. The GRD93U, same camera but for the American market, NTSC format, does not suffer from this problem why i do not know. The NTSC version is made in malaysia and the uk one in Germany. JVC will not answer my e mails so i cannot elaborate on this problem. All i would say is if you are serious about this camera check out the noise angle early and have it replaced asap. Generally good value for money camcorder but JVC could improve on quality control. Rating:
