I have only had this camcorder for two days at time of writing. This is my first digital camcorder & I was impressed by the quality of movies & stills taken. It is easy to use, but has manual override of many functions if needed. The zoom is impressive even when in digital range, although it is impossible to hold still enough to focus when on maximum zoom. The stills were excellent considering it is only two megapixels. Movies are very good quality even when viewed on a 36 inch TV. The supplied remote is very useful and performs most of the camera's functions. (Handy for "personal" videos). My only gripes so far are that the supplied SD card is only 8MB and soon gets full and also that the manual doesn't explain how to transfer movies to PC. Luckily I had a Firewire lead & when connected, the PC recognised the camera and I was able to transfer movies with software already installed. Overall this is an excellent all round camcorder and negates the need for a seperate still camera provided you don't expect miracles.
